Kingfisher Explocity Restaurant Week 2010, which began on November 11 and concluded on November 21, was a superb success with over 70 of Bangalore’s best restaurants offering awesome discounts and organising fun events and contests. Several lucky diners walked away with grand prizes like free domestic tickets and TTK Prestige vouchers worth Rs 2 lakh. At the prelude to the event, the top seven chefs of the city competed in a cook-off with Executive Chef Rana Dominic Gomes of Royal Orchid being crowned the first ever ‘King of Chefs’.

During the week that followed, participating restaurants recorded an increase in footfall with diners availing great discounts on their meals.

The Grand Finale held on November 21 of the Kingfisher Explocity Restaurant Week 2010 saw international cafe chain Au Bon Pain creating Bangalore’s biggest Crostini at Mantri Square. This open-faced Crostini was then donated to the Indian Red Cross Society. The event generated a lot of media buzz with coverage in TV9 and NDTV’s ‘Gourmet Getaways’, sealing Explocity’s place in the city’s culinary domain.
