The Kingfisher Explocity great food guide, Kolkata, was recently launched at Starmark bookstore, Lord Sinha road. The event also saw Starstruck chef Francis Chang, cooking up a storm for food lovers while they soaked in the comprehensive restaurant food guide.

The book by far is the best when it comes to food guides, with over 2,000 food locations covering almost all the restaurants and pubs in Kolkata. Whether it is looking for pubs, bars, food courts, lounges, fast food, fine dine or cafes, Kingfisher Explocity is a full fledged guide of sorts.

The food locations in the book are arranged in alphabetical order and divided according to cuisines, multi-cuisine details, area, food courts, chain restaurants, vegetarian only restaurants, home deliveries, 24 hour restaurants, mid-night buffets and a lot more. The restaurants are further classified location wise for easier accessibility.

More than phone numbers and addresses, the book has detailed ambience descriptions, must try items on the menu, meal details, working hours, valet parking details, happy hour timings, number of tables and even maps, making it the most detailed food guide till date.

The cookery workshop, which accompanied the book launch, was a vegetarian’s delight. On menu was Vegetable Squab, Eight treasure Vegetables, and Fook Chu Rice. The delicacies left the audience yearning for more.
